Catch some Shakespeare at OSU-Lima this weekend

LIMA – “The Complete Works of William Shakespeare” will be performed at The Ohio State University-Lima at 7:30 pm Friday, April 8, 7:30 pm Saturday, April 9, and at 2 pm on Sunday, April 10. The play will be held in the Martha W. Farmer Theater for the Performing Arts, which is located in Reed Hall.

Director Margie Anich describes the play as “3 actors, 37 plays, 97 minutes. 2 much fun! ” Audiences can look forward to a whirlwind trip through Shakespeare’s tragedies, histories and comedies.

Tickets are $ 10 for adults and $ 5 for seniors and students. The play is not recommended for young children. Tickets are now available online using a credit card. Tickets purchased at the door must be paid for by cash or check. The box office will open one hour before each performance.

The three cast members play multiple parts from all of Shakespeare’s plays.

Encore Youth Theater – Godspell Jr .: 7:30 pm Friday and Saturday; 2 pm Sunday at 991 N. Shore Drive, Lima. Based on “The Gospel According to St. Matthew. ” Admission is $ 10 for adults and $ 5 for children age 10 and younger.

American Legion charity Bingo: 5 pm doors open Friday, 6:45 pm games, American Legion Post 96, 711 S. Shore Drive, Lima.

Limaland Poetry Slam: 7:30 pm Friday at Vibe Coffee House & Café, 311 E. Market Street, Lima. Admission is a $ 3 donation; sign-ups are free.

On Saturday

Delphos Area Relay for Life Spring Fling Craft Show: 9 am-2pm Saturday at Delphos Jefferson High School, 901 Wildcat Lane, Delphos. Admission is free.

Support local artisans, crafters, vendors and the Relay for Life. Raffles and concessions will be available.

Easter Egg Hunt: 2-4 pm Saturday at Do-Right Motorcycle Clubhouse, 809 Ohio Street, Delphos. Admission is free. Children ages 12 and younger are welcome for games, prizes and more.

Home Sweet Home Vintage Market Spring Fling: 9 am-4pm Saturday at the Allen County Fairgrounds, 2750 Harding Highway, Lima. Admission is $ 5 for adults, with children 12 and younger admitted free.

Lima Symphony – Grand Opera Choruses: 7:30 pm at Veterans Memorial Civic & Convention Center, # 7 Town Square, Lima. Visit limasymphony.com for admission prices.

The Lima Symphony Orchestra and Chorus explore the diverse offerings of grand opera choruses. From Rimsky-Korsakov’s regal Procession of the Nobles, to Borodin’s seductive Polovitsian Dances, to Verdi favorites, the spotlight is on the power and beauty of the chorus.

On Sunday

Handel’s “Messiah”: 2:30 pm Sunday at Bluffton University, Yoder’s Recital Hall 1 University Drive, Bluffton. Admission is a free-will offering.

The concert, featuring soloists and a chorus, will include parts 2 and 3 of Handel’s “Messiah.” Dr. Young Bo Kang, Bluffton University director of choral activities, will conduct.
